Sarawak strike down U-12 titles

ALLEXISS O’Neil Edward from Kuching led from start to finish to win the Boys U-12 title of the Sarawak leg of the Sportexcel-NSC-Milo-MTBC Junior Circuit and stamp Sarawak’s domination at the Megalanes East Bowling Centre in Miri yesterday.
The leader in the first block of four games with 1,091 pinfalls on Friday registered the top score of 732 pins yesterday in the second block of four games to finish 35 pins ahead of closest rival and teammate Abang Afiq Yazid Abang Azman.
Completing the top six finish by Sarawakians are Abner Loo from Sibu who had 1,708 pins, Alstair Ting from Miri with 1,609 pins, Melvin Gilbert Tingau with 1,551 pins and Patrick Lau of Sibu with 1,505 pins.
Miri’s junior bowler Gillian Lim prevented a clean sweep of the top six positions in the Girls U-12 by Sabah when she felled a total of 1,630 pins to claim the title.
She was trailing Siti Nur Aisyah Satar from Sandakan, Sabah by 39 pins on Friday after the first block of four games but was able to turn the tables on the latter with 31 pins to spare. Siti could only manage 606 pins yesterday to add to 995 pins a day earlier for a total of 1,601 pins. Her teammate from Sandakan Erissa Sarah Che Ramli came in third with 1,546 pins while the fourth to sixth positions were occupied by Nurul Ayunni Junaidi (1,495), Shasha Ameera Puteri Sharom (1,373) and Nurul Alyssa Junaidi (1,348).
