Riverside Superbowl reopens officially on 30.07.2011!!!

After a change of management and going through the uplifting renovation works, the first ever computerised bowling centre in Kuching has finally reopened officially on Saturday, 30.07.2011 with the ceremony starting early in the morning at 8.30am.

It was a great day for Riverside Superbowl's new managing director, Mr. Yean Poh Hua, who has many memories of the centre being that he has been there since day one way back in the early 1990's. At the alley early in the morning, way earlier than anyone else, he was cheerfully greeting invited guests, friends and bowlers and all smiles he should be as he successfully transformed Riverside Superbowl into a very clean, neat and cozy bowling alley.

To make his great day even better, his official openning was graced by Y.B. Datuk Talib Zulpilip who is the chairman of the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation or S.E.D.C. for short and also assistant minister for tourism.

A charity bowl team event was also organised by Riverside Superbowl as part of the activity and all team registration was duly donated to the Rotary Club, Kuching. The event was a 4-man team and each bowler bowled 3 games each with the highest accumulated team pinfalls wins. The champion, 1st and 2nd runner up won themselves trophies for keeps.

The team of Abang Afiq Yazid Bin Abang Azman, Abang Azlan Yunus Bin Abang Azman, Nazrin Bin Wagiman and Eddie Tan of Pin10 Cafe emerged as the champion with Borneo Biscuits team of Daniel Tan Yan Han, Yean Chia Ming, Galliano Edward and Allexiss O'Neil Edward came in as 1st Runner up. Just 7 pins behind in 3rd was the team of the Amateur Bowling Association of Sarawak (A.B.A.S.) who is the governing body for the sport of tenpin bowling in Sarawak. The team consists of its office bearers and committee members, Caroline Chien (Hon. Secretary), Kelvin Chan Chung Sian (Asst. Hon. Treasurer), Angelo Koay (Asst. Hon. Secretary) and Mohd Amran Saait (Committee Member) played under the banner of their gracious sponsor JW Supplies.

It was a day of fun, togetherness, smiles and warmth as how the fraternity of bowling is here in Sarawak. We congratulate and extend our heartiest best wishes to Riverside Superbowl and may the association and the bowling centre work hand in hand and see eye to eye in further developing the sport not only in Kuching but the whole of Sarawak as well.
