Amateur Bowling (TenPin) Association Sarawak (ABAS) is sending 8 representatives to take part in the 25th edition of the Asian Intercity Bowling Championship to be held in Orchid Bowl, Orchid Country Club, Yi Shun, Singapore from 12th – 18th of October, 2011.

Team of 4 men and 2 women had been selected from a recent roll-off to represent Kuching City North (DBKU) organized by the association (ABAS)

Men’s Team: Kelvin Eng, Kevin Chan, Simon Ong and Yap Yung Shang and Ladies Team : Caroline Chien and Nurafidza Bte Mohd Amran.

This is the very first outing for ABAS to send a senior team for the event. “We are not only concerned about our youth but also our senior members. Bowlers in our fraternity should be encouraged to learn more about this event, which is held annually.”  Said Robert Lu, who is also the team manager and vice president of ABAS. This will also give opportunity for ex-State and Sukma bowlers to look forward to more competitions outside Malaysia.

More than 33 cities will be taking part in this championship, the previous being held in Manila, Philipines.
To add confidence to the team, Chief Coach of Sarawak Sukma  Team will also be behind the team in Singapore.

The team left today for Singapore.
