The 60' Tenpin Bowling Challenge 2011
The USPTN team of coaches has taken their own initiative to organize a monthly tournament for the youths in Sarawak. The tournament will be called "The 60' Tenpin Bowling Challenge 2011" consisting of 11 monthly editions and one Grand Finals.
Participants will earn points in the monthly editions depending on their placings and the top 12 after the 11th edition will then qualify themselves to take part in the Grand Finals. The attraction of this tournament and its editions is that every edition will see a different format of play such as, plastic ball challenge, match play, knockout, and others. This is too make the tournament more exciting a to prepare our youths to the different format of play in bowling. Prizes will also defer in every edition as it depends on the availability of funds as the coaches objective of organizing this monthly tournament is to promote exposure and competition among the youths and not developing them into future "money bowlers".
Every edition will also have a special name, example, the first edition scheduled on the 29th to 30th of January, 2011 shall bear the name "The 60' Tenpin Bowling Challenge 2011 "The USPTN" Edition" being that the tournament prizes are sponsored by USPTN. Any sponsor that invest into encouraging this tournament shall have an edition bearing their personal or corporate name whichever they deem fit.
This being a personal initiative by the coaches, funds are self raised and limited and we hope anyone interested in further developing and preparing our state youths would kindly sponsor an edition to keep it going. Your support and involvement is very much needed and appreciated. Any interested sponsor or anyone with any constructive opinions and suggestions please write it down in the comment column or contact Mr, Reginald Walter Angkas, Mr. Angelo Koay, Mr. Myron Khoo or Mr. Jeff Chin.

Si retains ABAS presidency unopposed (Borneo Post on December 28, 2010, Tuesday)
KUCHING: Sunny Si was returned unopposed as president of the Amateur Bowling (Tenpin) Association of Sarawak (Abas) for another term at the association’s annual general meeting Sunday.
NEW LINE-UP: Si (seated centre), flanked by Shaifulbahri (second right) and Lu (second left) with the other new office-bearers after the election.
Also returned unopposed was the deputy president Shaifulbahri Shukri.
Robert Lu, who served as secretary for 15 years, was elected vice president while Caroline Chien replaced him as secretary.
The other office-bearers for the next term are assistant secretary Angelo Koay, treasurer Kelvin Eng and assistant treasurer Kelvin Chan while Jackie Ting, Aaron Tay, Mohd Amran Saait, Patrick Ng, Alhadi Bujang and Ting King Yi were elected the committee members.
A.B.A.S. newly elected Office bearers and General committee members for the term of 2011 to 2012
Amateur Bowling Association of Sarawak (A.B.A.S.) had it annual AGM on boxing day the 26th December, 2010 at Kingwood Inn, Jalan Perupok, Kuching and was attended by more than 40 of its members. Year 2010 achievements, activities and financial reports were also made known to its attending members.
In this AGM the 2009/2010 office bearers and general committee members was dissolved to make way for the election of new personnels to lead the association for a two year term of 2011/2012 as stated in the constitution.
Some veterans were retained as their experience and knowledge of running the association is invaluable, some were promoted to higher post and best of all was the election of many new and young blood into the committee which will ensure the supply of fresh and innovative ideas, opinions and suggestions as the association strives to better improve itself.
To the veterans, we express our gratitude and appreciation as you continue to serve, to the newly promoted, we extend our congratulations, and to the new, we open our arms and welcome you into our working committee.
Taking a quote from our now Vice President, Mr. Robert Lu Nam Ming, "If we all put our heads together, we can work together and make our association better and stronger".
